Roots, an Orufrey Zine was a SFW physical zine dedicated to the ship between Qifrey & Olruggio from Witch Hat Atelier. All profits from this zine were split between Transgender Law Center and Honor the Earth.This project is now complete and our social media accounts are now inactive but left up for archival purposes. For this zine we’d prefer pieces to be set within the established universe, but if you have an AU idea you'd like to pitch, we might consider it if it falls within the aesthetics and visual themes of the rest of the zine. The creation period will hopefully start in November and run until February, with monthly check-ins.Piece Requirements:Artists are required to create one full colour illustration. This piece should be be 6 x 9 inches, in CMYK and 300 DPI.Writers are required to write one 2.5k piece.Merch Artists are required to make a minimum of two pieces of merch. A merch list will be sent to our accepted artists.Application Requirements:-Your portfolio should showcase your best work. We’re looking for finished pieces so we can see what you’re capable of!
-Witch Hat Atelier / Orufrey pieces are appreciated but NOT required!
-You do not need to have previous zine experience. Everyone has to have their first zine!
-Please do NOT include NSFW in your portfolio. If it cannot be edited for whatever reason please warn us for any NSFW content beforehand.
-Writers, please submit 3-5 samples with at least 2 pieces of finished work (maximum of 2,500 words each).
-In order for us to vet your ability to finish work and to get the best understanding of your writing style, the more finished pieces you include the better. Submitting drafts and unfinished work is fine, just make sure you submit at least two finished pieces!Rules:The following content is NOT welcome in this zine.-Explicit and/or violent content (i.e. -gore, suicide, torture, etc.)
-The glorification of abusive characters.
-Incestous relationships.
-Romantic or sexual relationships between adults and minors.
-Sexually explicit or suggestive content of any characters.

All of our mods have a hand in all the roles of this zine, and have experience moderating in some way, shape, or form!
Teddy is our Project Manager, Finances, Production and Social Media Mod! He has participated in a few zines and is currently also hosting RWBY Couture. This will be his first time in production, but he has received significant advice from well trusted sources, and is currently shadowing a separate production mod.
Rix is our Writing Mod! He will beta read the zine and make sure everything reads smoothly and concisely.
Dani is our Art Mod! Dani too has experience in zines, and has recently started making merch. They will ensure that everything is appropriate for print.
Cloud is our General Mod! They will step in as needed to assist and provide support to our other mods across all areas of the zine.
